Prologue
Walking out of her house, Heaven joined her homegirls La-La, Kim, and Gina on her front porch. People often referred to them as the four musketeers because the four of them had been the best of friends and rocking with each other since they could remember.
“Yo, bitch, we’re hitting up the club tonight. You know that nigga Jamal just got out and Zy and them is having his ass a welcome home party,” La-La said, amped up while smacking on her gum. She was the ghetto one of them all. The one that gets drunk when they went out and started shit with whoever got in her way. But other than that Heaven would rather hang with her before the other two. La-La was the life of the party!
“Yeah, bitch, I just got off the phone with Fred’s ugly ass and he said he was getting us in. You already know them niggas gonna be balling the fuck out,” Gina stated, taking a seat on the steps. There’s always that one follower in the group, and that was Gina. Whenever Kim said jump that bitch would start jumping before asking how high.
“And a bitch fucking something tonight,” said Kim as she and Gina high-fived each other. Kim was the drama queen of the four. That bitch lived for drama. She knew everybody’s business and didn’t mind sharing it.
“Oh you already know I’m down, especially if Zylen’s fine ass gonna be there,” Heaven said with a smile. Heaven was the chill one of them all. She was the calmer and laid back one but would get hood if she had to.
Zylen, better known in the streets as Zy, was someone Heaven had been trying to get into her bed for years. But for some reason she could get everyone in there but him and the challenge only made her want him even more.
Kim rolled her eyes upwards and smacked her lips. “Girl, you been on that nigga’s dick since way back when. He look good and all but he ain’t all that. His attitude makes him ugly.”
“Bitch, that nigga is all that! Zy sexy as fuck and that nigga paid, too,” La-La said.
“So that’s a bonus,” Gina laughed as her and La-La hit hands.
“Her ass just mad because he won’t fuck her. I’m gonna get him one of these days”, said Heaven. She just felt in her heart that Zylen would one day be hers.
Heaven really didn’t understand why Kim disliked Zylen so much. She personally thought Kim was just mad because every nigga tried to talk to them, but him. See, Kim hated rejection. She thought if a guy didn’t like her, he was most likely gay. Yeah, she was one of those type of females.
“Bitch, you the one that’s trying to get the nigga dick, not me,” Kim shot back.
“And I’m gonna get it, too! Don’t believe me? Just watch,” Heaven said and they all burst out laughing.
Heaven kicked it with her girls a little while longer before they left, heading home to get dressed. She was looking herself over in the mirror when her phone went off. It was a text from La-La stating they were on the way. “Damn, you a bad bitch!” she said out loud before walking out her room.
Heaven decided to wear a purple strapless dress that barely covered her ass and complimented her body too well. She finished it off with black accessories and black eight-inch pumps. Her hair was parted in the middle, hanging long with the purple ends curly and her make-up was flawless.
Fred met Heaven and her girls at the doors of the packed club and led them up to VIP with the rest of the niggas. Instantly she spotted Zylen sitting by himself rolling a Blunt. She smiled. It was no secret that she liked him and she let it be known to the ones that didn’t know. She made her way over to him and sat down.
“Hey Zy,” she said seductively with the sexiest smile she’d ever given anyone.
He licked his lips. “Sup,” he said nonchalantly as he continued to roll his Blunt and not pay her any attention.
It wasn’t that Zylen didn’t li
ke Heaven. In fact, he thought she was one of the most gorgeous women walking earth, but that was it. To him, she didn’t have anything going for herself. She saw a nigga with a little money and would fuck him. He loved beautiful women, true enough, but they had to have brains and want more out of life than a hood nigga with money, and that’s exactly what Heaven and her girls wanted.
Zylen scanned the section and noticed how his niggas were drooling over Heaven and her homegirls. He just shook his head, not understanding how they could sit there and hold a conversation with each other knowing they all have slept together in some kind of way. Zylen knew for a fact that his nigga Ali had slept with two, if not all of them, so who’s to say the rest of his niggas hadn’t?
“Can I hit your Blunt, Zy?” Heaven asked. She didn’t smoke but she would that night if he passed it to her. Instead he shook his head.
“Nah, you don’t even smoke, li’l mama,” he said and that was the only good thing about her that he liked. She wasn’t a smoker. Plus if she did, there was no way he was letting her hit his Blunt; he don’t even smoke after his homeboys.
She smiled. “So you been watching me? I mean for you to know that I don’t smoke…”
“Nah, not really,” Zylen said, getting up and leaving Heaven sitting there.
Heaven shook her head. That was it for her. She was tired of him treating her like she wasn’t shit; like he was too good to fuck with her. She sat there pouting until Jamal walked over to her. He was cute and all but he wasn’t nearly as cute as Zylen. But since Zylen wasn’t giving her the time of day she was going to just stop trying.
“What’s up, Heaven?” Jamal smiled, showing off his four top row of open-faced golds. Heaven thought he could do without the golds but to each his own.
“Hey, boo. Welcome home,” she said to him.
“Can a nigga get a welcome home dance?”
Heaven bit down on her bottom lip then took his hand and got up, leading him to the dance floor. She began grinding on Jamal’s dick and he was loving every minute of it.
“Get it, ma.” He smacked her on the ass and it caused her to go harder. She looked over and saw Zylen posted on the wall while some light-skinned girl danced on him. Heaven felt herself become jealous. She didn’t understand why he wouldn’t give her the time of day but he could go dance with random bitches. She turned to face Jamal.
“I’m ready to go,” she said.
“I’ll take you,” he said, grabbing her hand. Jamal already knew how Heaven and her girls got down. Though he’d already slept with La-La, Kim, and Gina, he wanted to know what Heaven was like in bed. He’d heard nothing but good things about her from a couple of niggas but he wanted to see himself.
“Let me just tell my girls I’m leaving,” Heaven said and walked off in search of her girls. After finding them and letting them know she was leaving she headed to the exit with Jamal right behind her.
They pulled up to Heaven’s house and she hopped out. She heard the driver side door close and turned to face Jamal as he was walking around the car.
“Um, where you going?” she asked confusedly.
“Damn, a nigga can’t come in to chill?”
Heaven rolled her eyes. “I guess,” she said. When she got to the door she heard loud music and shook her head because she knew more than likely her mother, Sunshine, had company.
Heaven and Sunshine didn’t have a mother and daughter type of relationship. They were more like sisters. Sunshine had Heaven when she was only 14 years old. Just like Heaven, Sunshine lived a wild lifestyle back in her days.
“Ma, turn that shit down!” Heaven yelled over the music as she walked to her room while Sunshine danced and entertained one of her many guy friends. Sunshine just rolled her eyes as she continued doing what she was doing.
“Damn, that’s your mama?” Jamal asked, shutting Heaven’s bedroom door behind him.
“Yep, that’s her ratchet ass,” Heaven said as she began to undress. Jamal sat back, licking his lips as he admired her body. Heaven might have been the sexiest woman he’d ever laid eyes on. She walked over to the bed and took a seat next to him. His dick instantly became hard.
“Damn, you sexy as fuck, ma,” said Jamal.
Though Heaven had heard that numerous times, she could never get enough of it. She blushed. “Thank you.”
Jamal pulled her onto his lap and began placing soft kisses on her neck. A soft moan escaped Heaven’s mouth as she threw her head back. Jamal stood up with her and laid her on the bed gently as he positioned himself between her thighs. Heaven started rotating her hips in a circular motion. Jamal pulled back and began unfastening his belt buckle.
“I can’t do this,” Heaven sat up and said.
Jamal looked confused. “Da fuck you mean?” he asked.
“I mean I don’t want to have sex with you.”
“Why the fuck not? A nigga was nice enough to bring your ass home and can’t get no pussy?” Jamal asked with an attitude.
“So that’s why you brought me home? So you can get some pussy? What happened to just being nice? I’m not about to give you some because you brought me home. Who the fuck you think I am?”
“Bitch please, being nice? Ain’t nobody being nice to you or your ho ass friends. Y’all out fucking and sucking niggas up and you thought I was just bringing you home out the kindness of my heart? Ho, please!” Jamal said, pissed off.
“Really?” Heaven couldn’t believe he was mad because he wasn’t gonna get any pussy. Only fuck niggas do that!
“Hell yeah, really. You had to know I was gonna want some pussy since you out giving it away freely to all my niggas. That’s all you hos do is run the streets trying to fuck a nigga for a couple of bucks to buy an outfit to wear to the club so y’all can get drunk and go home with the next nigga.”
“Giving it to your niggas? Ask your niggas how many have even sniffed this pussy.” Heaven laughed hysterically. “You really mad, huh?”
She knew everybody thought she was out fucking everybody because of the things her homegirls did. Yeah, Heaven had her fair and share of niggas but she would mostly get her pussy eaten and that was it. Jamal looked at her like she was crazy when she didn’t stop laughing.
“I know all my niggas done ran through y’all hos,” Jamal continued.
Heaven shrugged “Believe what you wanna believe. Now would you please get the fuck out my house?” she said.
Heaven may have flirted with Zylen’s homeboys but she would’ve never talked to them for two reasons; because her girls had slept with a couple of them and because she had her mind set on her and Zylen being together one day.
*********
Heaven decided to get up early to go visit her girl La-La. The two of them were the closest of the four. As she was walking over there she saw Zylen standing and talking to a female. She slowed her pace as she walked past them, and seeing him hug the girl before they went their separate ways really broke Heaven’s heart. She made up in her mind that whenever she got a chance she would ask him what it was about her that he didn’t like.
La-La was already sitting on the porch with Ali when Heaven walked up. Ali was Zylen’s right hand man and him and La-La had become extremely close over the past few months. The two of them shared the kind of thug love Heaven was yearning for.
“Hey, boo. What’s wrong with you?” La-La asked.
Heaven smacked her lips. “I saw your punk ass friend down the street hugging some tramp,” she said to Ali.
“Oh word?” was all Ali said. Ali already knew Zylen thought Heaven was cute but Zylen stressed how he would never talk to her on that level. Ali always told Zylen to just hit it and quit it but Zylen wasn’t going for that either.
La-La smacked her lips. “Boo, fuck that nigga,” she said in her ghetto voice.
Heaven sat kicking it with them for a while before heading back home. Walking past the corner store that all the local drug dealers hung out at, she spotted one of her old flings, Tre, standing out front with
his pregnant girlfriend. Heaven really thought she had finally found the thug love she always wanted with Tre until his girlfriend popped up pregnant.
She heard her name being called and guys whistling at her but she kept walking. She’d been doing a lot of thinking lately about what she wanted to do with her life. Heaven hadn’t told anyone but she had even filled out college applications online. And after Jamal going off on her the way he did, that gave her the push she really needed. Heaven didn’t want to be considered a jump-off any longer!
When she got to her house she checked the mailbox and say she had mail from a couple of colleges. Smiling, she ran into the house and into her room. She tossed them all on her bed, except for the letter from Spellman.
“Ma!” Heaven yelled, running out her room.
“What, girl?” Sunshine asked, standing over the stove.
Heaven handed her the piece of paper and Sunshine read it confusedly. “Baby, I didn’t know you had applied for college. I mean it has been almost two years since you graduated,” she said with teary eyes. Sunshine was truly happy for her daughter and thought it was a great opportunity for her.
“I know. I realized there’s more to life than running the streets.”
“I’m so happy for you, my love,” Sunshine said as she hugged her daughter. A lot of people thought Heaven was just a pretty face but little did they know she was an honor student and graduated ahead of her class. Sunshine couldn’t have been more proud of her daughter at that very moment.
Chapter 1
2 years later
Heaven walked out of the airport and spotted her mother standing by a black Benz. “Damn Ma, this is nice,” she said, hugging her mother and admiring the car.
“I’m glad you like it baby. It’s yours,” Sunshine said, handing her the keys.
“Oh my God, Mama, thanks!” Heaven took the keys and ran around to the driver’s side, leaving Sunshine to put her bags inside.
Inside the car Sunshine couldn’t stop smiling at Heaven. To say she was proud of her daughter would’ve been an understatement. “I’ve missed you so much baby and I’m so proud of the young lady you have become. I know it was hard and you wanted to give up but I’m glad you didn’t.”
