“She ain’t keeping that mothafuckin’ baby, so you might as well go ahead call and make her an appointment to abort the mothafucka,” Ronny demanded in a nonchalant attitude. He was barely forty, so what in the world he looked like being someone’s grandfather.

“Hold on now, Ronny. That is still your daughter and I understand you’re upset, but that’s still your grandchild that she’s carrying, so there’s no need for you to be referring to it as a mothafucka!”

“I call it what I wanna fucking call it! And I know it’s my daughter that done went out and fucked up her life, you don’t have to remind me.”

“I’m just saying, baby. All that isn’t called for.” Shaniqua was trying to remain the calm one in this situation but of course, Ronny wasn’t making it easy for her. “And how are you just gonna call all the shots in this? So, I don’t have an input on your decision for her to have an abortion?” Shaniqua was totally against abortions.

She’d let her hurt and emotions for Ronny cause her to have one during one of their break-ups and with Dre egging it on, she felt it was the right thing to do in her situation. She thought that she was really done with Ronny and had found her ‘dream guy’ but his ass turned out to be a bigger nut than the one she was trying to escape. Now she had to live with that for the rest of her life.

“Not really! I’m calling all the shots on this right here and I say she getting up in the morning and having that fucking pregnancy terminated. Ain’t no need in prolonging it and letting her get comfortable with the shit, cause she ain’t keeping it. Point blank!”

“Wow. So, I guess what I say don’t matter, huh?” Shaniqua asked. It was crazy how Ronny wasn’t including her on his decision. Destiny might not have been her biological child but she treated her as if she was since day one. Yeah, she was hurt and didn’t want to accept the fact that she was Ronny’s, at first. But, she could’ve easily not have even told him about Destiny. Remember, she was the one that saw her and told Ronny that she was indeed his child before he even saw her.

“Nope!” Ronny was looking dead into her eyes letting her know that what he says goes and he was dead ass serious about her not having a voice in the matter.

“Well let me ask you this, since you calling all the shots. Think about how you felt when you found out I had that abortion a few years ago. Did you—”

“Oh hell naw. Don’t even throw that bullshit up in my damn face because you were dead ass wrong for that shit and this a whole different situation. You did that because you wanted to be with the next nigga; because you wanted to up and move away with my son to this nigga’s hometown, and you saw how that shit worked out for you. Almost cost you your damn life.” When Ronny roared that, Shaniqua’s bottom lip damn near hit the floor. After all these years, Ronny finally spoke on how he felt about her getting the abortion. Yeah, she knew he was hurt but they never sat and talked about it. They just went on with their lives as if it never happened.

“Really Ronny? So that’s why you think I aborted our baby; to run off and be with Dre?” she asked in total shock.

“Don’t ever speak that fuck nigga’s name in my house!” Ronny might’ve said that in a chill tone, but he was dead ass serious. To this day, he still despised Dre, Eric and Vic; and if he could, he would dig them up from their graves just so he could kill them all over again. That’s how much hate he had in his heart for them.

“Whatever!” Shaniqua waved him off. “FYI, my abortion didn’t have shit to do with that mothafucka, it had everything to do with you and the bullshit you were doing. You were running around getting motel rooms with that bitch Denise and every other thot-bitch out there, then expected me to just sit at home having your kids and shit. Hell no, it didn’t work like that, mister,” Shaniqua explained. By now, her attitude was through the roof.

“Yeah, and you see where that shit got you, pregnant with my child once again. You dumber than I thought if you really thought I was gon’ let you move up there with that nigga and live a happy life?” Ronny chuckled. “You had me fucked up when you thought I was about to fucking nut inside a gotdamn condom,” he then stated disrespectfully as he looked at her with disgust.

“Yeah, and if I would’ve known it was your child instead of Dre’s then my dumb ass would’ve had another fucking abortion.” Not even a second after the words left Shaniqua’s mouth, Ronny was in her face.

“What the fuck did you just say to me?” he asked with a murderous mug. Shaniqua knew her husband and knew he wasn’t about to do anything to her. Ronny hadn’t roughed her up in years and vowed to never put his hands on her again, and that pushed her to call his bluff.

“You heard what the fuck I just said!” She looked up at Ronny as he stood directly in her face. “If I would’ve known I was pregnant by you then I would have had another abortion.” This time, she spoke a little slower so he could get a full understanding of what she was saying, which he already understood completely.

Ronny grabbed her by the neck so fast and snatched her little ass clean off the bed. He was at a loss for words as he stared into his wife’s eyes. His heart was pounding so fast, as if it was about to jump out his chest and his free hand was opening and closing into a fist. The thought of punching Shaniqua in the mouth weighed heavy on his mind and it was taking everything in him to control himself.

For a minute, he just stared into her frightened eyes before saying, “I swear to God, if you ever say some fucked up bullshit like that again, wife or not, I will fuck yo’ ass up in here. Bitch, you lucky I don’t take your ass to divorce court with that bullshit you just spit out your mouth. That shit was fucked up Shan, and I should beat your ass right now. I don’t give a fuck what we go through, I would never let some shit like that come out my mouth. All the arguments we’ve had, I never threw another bitch in your face and for you to do that is a low blow. Ol’ stupid bitch!” With that, Ronny threw her ass back on the bed, roughly.

He was already pissed with Destiny and Shaniqua just had to throw more fuel on the fire. He was on his way out the room before he stopped dead in his tracks. “And call and make that fucking appointment for my child to have that fucking abortion like I told your ass to!” Before Shaniqua could even respond, Ronny was out the room, slamming the door behind him.

Shaniqua had just put her foot into her mouth and she knew it. What on earth was she thinking to say something like that? Of course she didn’t mean it. She just wanted to get a reaction out of him, not run him off. Sometimes, Shaniqua tends to speak before she thinks and that would always get her into trouble with her husband.

“Oh my God. What was I thinking?” she asked herself as she laid in the same spot Ronny had threw her before he walked out the room. “I didn’t mean it, Ronny,” she cried out as if he could hear her.

Shaniqua wanted to get up and go after him, but she wasn’t trying to cause a scene in front of her kids; furthermore, she knew what she said was foul and she wanted to give him some time to himself before she apologized. Hopefully, her running her big mouth didn’t cost her, her marriage.

Ronny stormed downstairs to his man cave in a rage. The shit Shaniqua had just spoke had his blood boiling and a few years back, the only way he would pay her back was to go out and have sex with another woman. It was like, back then, Shaniqua’s mouth would cause Ronny to cheat on her. When she would anger him by her choice of words, he would retaliate by cheating. ‘You make me mad, I hurt you!’ was his mentality.

Yes, he knew it was wrong and it wasn’t the way to go about the whole situation, but that was just him. Her choice of words she’d just spoken had him wanting to go out and do the unthinkable, and he hadn’t had that feeling to cheat on his wife, in years; since before they got married. It was his best bet to just go to his man cave, smoke a blunt or two, drink a little something and just chill.

“Bitch got me fucked up!” Ronny said to himself as he released the smoke to the blunt he’d just fired up. His elbows rested on his knees as he bounce
d them up and down. He just couldn’t believe Shaniqua would say some shit like that and if they weren’t already married, he would’ve walked out on her and never looked back. That was the wrong thing to say at the wrong time.

Grabbing his phone, Ronny decided to call his bar and grill to see how everything was going. He needed to do something to keep him sane in his home because he was about to snap on any and everybody.

“Honey’s Bar and Grill, this is Alesha. How may I help you?” his assistant manager answered. Alesha was a thick little chocolate thing. She was sexy as hell, too. She’d been working at Honey’s Bar and Grill since day one and Ronny hadn’t had one problem out of her, nor one complaint from a customer about her. All the niggas loved to flirt with her, and even Cornell and Bino had flirted with her a time or two. Shaniqua swore Ronny be looking at her big ol’ ghetto booty, but that shit was just natural with him, so she never really just paid it no mind. As long as he didn’t get disrespectful with it, she had no beef with ol’ girl, nor her husband.

“Hey Lesh, this Ron,” he said, calling her by her nickname he’d given her. Everyone called her Lesha or Le-Le, but the boss-man called her Lesh, and she was more than okay with that. Shit, it wasn’t like she was going to check him, he was the one writing her checks.

“Oh hey Mr. Ron, how are you this evening?” Alesha said in a perky, yet sexy voice.

“Shit. How are things going around there? Y’all good?” Ronny heard the hesitancy in her voice and knew something was up. “What done happened?” he then asked.

Blowing out a frustrated breath, she said, “I had to fire Robert this evening.” Robert was the head cook of the kitchen. Ronny never had any problems out of him so what on earth could he possibly have done for her to fire him.

“Robert?” Ronny repeated. “What in the hell did he do?”

“Damn baby mama drama. I didn’t tell you, but his baby mama had been calling up here harassing him and threatening to come beat my ass because she was accusing us of sleeping together. So, she—,” she attempted to explain, but Ronny cut her off because all of that was music to his ears. If it ain’t one thing, it’s another.

“You and Robert fucking? When did this shit happen?” Robert didn’t look anything like he would be Alesha type.

“Hell no we not fucking. Ewe, I can’t believe you just tried me like that,” Alesha laughed as she sounded offended and angry all at once.

“I mean; I was just asking. Big niggas need love too,” Ronny chuckled. Robert was one of those heavyset guys that you see in the kitchen with dirty aprons and shit on. That mothafucker could cook his ass off and that was why Ronny hired him. “But what made her think y’all was messing around? And why you fired him because of that? I mean, if she hadn’t come up there to beat your ass yet then she probably wasn’t gone bust a grape.”

“I mean, I feared for my life, Mr. Ron. I didn’t want that big bitch to beat my ass. I’m too pretty to fight,” she said with much confidence. Ronny even nodded his head in agreement as if she could see him. He wasn’t even going to lie, Alesha was a cutie to him, with a banging body.

“Yeah, I feel ya, lil mama,” was all he said back.

“I know you do,” she said with a roll of her eyes as if he could she her. “Anyways, old girl came up here with his clothes and shit and set them right at the front entrance, in the inside.”

“Get the fuck out of here!” Ronny was shocked. That sounded like some shit his wife would’ve done back in the days. Hell, her crazy ass probably would still do it if she felt he was cheating on her.

“Yes. I couldn’t believe it. Then when I go get him to come get his things and take them to his car or somewhere, their asses got into it out front. I told his ass he had to go,” Alesha explained. All Ronny could do was shake his head.

“You should’ve called me. So, who the fuck been cooking?”

“Nope, I wasn’t going to call you because remember when I fired that one waitress a couple of months ago and you told me that I didn’t have to call you every time I fired someone. I was the manager and if I felt they had to go then you stand by my decision,” she recited the words that Ronny had spoken to her more than once.

Ronny laughed. “Yeah, you right. So who been doing the cooking and when are you looking to get someone else?” he asked.

“Well, we are a little tight around here but we’re managing to get by. I had Paul doing Robert’s job, and everyone else just fell in line.”

“Damn. I’ll be up there in a few. See ya when I get there,” Ronny said then ended the call. Going upstairs, he grabbed his keys off the end table. He grabbed his hat off the couch and placed it on his head then headed to the door.

“Where you going daddy?” Shaniyah was heading down the steps as he was walking out the door. She knew the heat was off her being that Destiny had gotten pregnant and not to mention, she didn’t know what was said in her parents’ bedroom, but she knew something had gone down and him and her mother was mad at one another. It might’ve been selfish, but Shaniyah loved those days because Ronny would treat her like a little princess and give her anything she wanted. She was truly a daddy’s little girl.

“I’m about to head over to the bar. What’s up?”

“Oh, can I go?” she asked. It was already close to nine at night and she had school in the morning, but she was really hoping he said yes.

“I don’t know how long I’ll be gone and you already know you have school in the morning.”

Smacking her lips, she said, “Okay.”

“Don’t smack those lips at me! Get yo’ shoes and come on with yo’ spoiled ass.” Ronny knew he had that child spoiled but he couldn’t help it. She’d been like that since day one and there was no changing it up now. She was his baby girl and though one might say he treated her, and even Ray’Shun, differently than he treated the rest, Ronny didn’t see it like that. It was just, Shaniyah asked for more than the other kids. Just like with her, whatever they asked for, they got it. It wasn’t his fault that they didn’t beg for all the things she begged for. And with Ray’Shun, he was Ronny’s oldest son, so of course they were going to have a tight bond.

“You spoiled me,” Shaniyah said as she took off up the stairs to get her shoes. She still had on her school clothes which was a pair of light jean shorts that stopped a couple of inches above her kneecaps and she matched it up with a white, tight fitting shirt with the word Love written in red. Just like her mother, red was her favorite color also. Slipping into her white Air Force with red trimming, Shaniyah was ready to go.

  Chapter 3

“Damn, I can’t believe your sister is pregnant,” said Trinity. The whole ride to her house had been an awkward, silent one. She’d been trying to find the words to address the whole pregnancy situation and the fact that he was seconds away from beating his little sister’s ass. He was still wearing the pissed off expression so Trinity was a little afraid to bring up the situation. Ray’Shun was a ticking time bomb and she wasn’t trying to have him exploding on her.

“That shit is fucked up man. I can’t wait to find out who did this shit to her.” Not having a clue that it was Kush’s younger brother, Ray’Shun added whoever it was to his ‘ass kicking’ list.

“Well, I hope you don’t go out there and get yourself into any trouble behind this mess. I really think you should just let your parents handle it. That’s their responsibility, Ray’Shun. Not yours.”

“Their responsibility? Those are my lil sisters, so they are my responsibilities too, and I ain’t fixing to let this shit fly. Niggas ain’t fixing to be fucking with them then smiling in my face like it’s all good.” Trinity totally felt where Ray’Shun was coming from. She just didn’t want him to get into any trouble behind any of this.

“I understand that baby, but your parents are already stressing over Niyah and now Destiny. So if you go out and get yourself into trouble that’s going to cause extra unnecessary stress, for them and me,” Trinity explained. Ray’Shun didn’t say anyt
hing as he focused on the road. “So, let me guess. Kush has been fucking around with Niyah?”

Trinity didn’t know Kush personally, but she heard of him. She knew that was Ray’Shun’s weed man, and she had even heard that Monae done slept with him before. Now, she didn’t know if it was true or not, but she didn’t put it pass that girl. Monae would open her legs to any guy’s whose name she thought rang bells in the streets.

“And I’m fucking that mothafucka up first!” That was a promise. Ray’Shun knew he would catch Kush slipping sooner or later. Kush was supposed to have called him by now, but because he hadn’t, Ray’Shun knew Rock had delivered the message to him. “Like, this is the mothafucka I buy my green from. That mothafucka is damn near my age. Niyah just turned fifteen. Fucking Chester!” The last statement caused Trinity to chuckle. Ray’Shun cut his eyes at her because he didn’t think it was a laughing matter.

Trinity saw how he was looking at her and cleared her throat. Straightening up, she said, “I’m sorry baby, but that was funny. He’s like what, two years older than her? Isn’t Niyah like fifteen?”

“I don’t give a fuck how old she is or that nigga! He violated by fucking with my lil sis. I would never cross that fucking line if he had one.” When he said that, Trinity pressed her lips together and looked at him with a frown. No he did not!

“But didn’t you talk to Slim’s sister? What’s her name? Be-Be?”

Yes, Trinity knew all about Be-Be and they’d even shared a few words on the phone once before. Be-Be had called Trinity’s phone once trying to check her about Ray’Shun and made it clear that she was who he wanted to be with. That was only in her sick mind, though. To Ray’Shun, it was all about the sex. Once Trinity confronted him about everything, he checked Be-Be but never stopped fucking with her. And to this day, he nor Trinity knew how she had even gotten her number.
